Face to face classes are finally back in a brand new venue; Ardleigh House Community Centre

A weekly practical art class set within a bright and airy room at Ardleigh House Community Centre. In each class you will be shown some inspirational artists, how to accomplish different techniques along with demonstrations. Whilst working on your own pieces, you will be given 1-2-1 feedback and advice. The classes are appropriate for all abilities whether you have a passion for art or renewing your creative skills.

At the start of the term you will be emailed a full outline of each class including subject matter, equipment you will need along with specific dates. Prior to the start of each class you will be emailed a PDF of the class which includes; inspirational artists, step by step instructions and photo reference images for your own use. Images are also provided to work on during lessons along with tea and coffee.

There will be opportunities for plein air drawing and painting in and around Havering, weather permitting.

I wanted to say thank you so much for the classes I took with you, they were incredibly helpful, and it was great for me to leave the house and practice whilst engaging with other people.”

Online Art Classes

Following from the Covid Pandemic I have been holding art classes through zoom. These have been a great way to connect, and get creative in the comfort of your own home. I limit numbers and encourage participants to switch on their videos not only so I can guide you with your art work but also to encourage a friendly and  lively class.

Online classes are the same format of all of my classes where I share slides on my screen of artists' work for inspiration, you can directly watch me demonstrate, then I'll approach each person for 1-2-1 feedback just like in class. All content is sent to you prior to the class starting so that you can get inspired and see the step by step process and have a selection of images to work from.

These classes are aimed at all abilities whether you're a beginner or an improver. I provide a range of tasks and ideas to meet differing levels. I always encourage students to put their own creativity and identity into their work so that your artwork shows your personality whether that's through bold colours or muted, modern brush strokes or more traditional. Each students work looks completely different as they put their own marks into them which is the joy of teaching, seeing creativity and styles emerging.

Art Groups and Societies

I also teach private classes to art groups and societies. I tailor make the classes to suit the needs of your group from specific media to subject matter. I cover a wide range including oils, acrylic, watercolour, mixed media and have covered a wide range of subject matter including skyscrapers, palette knife painting,  mixed media for a more dynamic and creative artwork.

I will show you inspirational artists to inspire you, then demonstrate with a step by step process to complete a picture, offering one-to-one feedback throughout to make sure everyone is having fun and following along.

All of the content I use in my teaching is sent through to participants prior to the workshop so that everyone has it for their own personal use. Along with a full materials list of what is required to complete the artwork.

Examples of past classes include; London skyscraper in oils, Mixed media poppies, watercolour birch trees and mixed media peacock. Images can be seen above.
